I am Marieanne, well, Manon. Although I've just broken up with Rody, he insists on meeting me at La Gueule de Saturne. I don't know why I came.
"So, you wanted to see me while you were working?" I asked dryly.
I'm wearing a simple sweater and pants, not formal wear, but he's wearing his waiter's apron.
"S-S-Sorry." He says to me, while dropping dishes between different tables. "As you can see, the bistro is full and..." He picks up dirty plates. "And Vince would kill me if I took a break!"
"Why did you want to see me, then? You know we broke up!"
"I know, I know, but I thought I still had a chance with...!"
He stumbles. All the dirty plates end up on the floor and broken. I hear someone shouting from the kitchen.
"Oh no, Vince!"
Suddenly, the earth began to shake, and creatures resembling large centipedes appeared. The customers of La Gueule de Saturne panic. The customers flee. Rody's boss emerges from the kitchen. He cusses when he sees the monsters.
"Rody!" He goes over to him and helps him up.
"Vince? What...?"
"We need to leave. Manon will take care of them."
"Manon?"
Vince and Rody return to the kitchen. Before disappearing behind the doors, he tells me to transform. How does Vince know I'm a Sailor Guardian? Only Sailor Vincence knows my identity. No matter. I take the magic brooch out of my little purse.
"Marianna Heart Power, Make Up!"
My body becomes naked and surrounded by light. I turn around and find myself dressed in a sailor uniform in two shades of yellow. The uniform has a large ribbon across its chest and a small ribbon down the back of its miniskirt. I also have long boots, a tiara on my forehead, long gloves, earrings and a choker. I stop spinning and my transformation is complete.
"I am the guardian of love and protection, Sailor Marianna! Prepare to be punished."
The centipede creatures want to attack me, but I fend them off with my fists and feet.
"HEART SHOWER ATTACK!"
A shower of hearts of light falls on the monsters. This kills several of them. The remaining angry creatures merge to become gigantic. The giant monster grabs me and throws me against a wall. It hurts! I fall to the ground. I try to get up, but I can't. The monster takes its time approaching me.
"No... I don't want... to die... here...!"
I still can't do it. At least Rody will be happy. I'll think of him before I die. Suddenly, the centipede monster writhes in pain as a warm liquid is poured over him.
"Shame on you for disturbing Maître Charbonneau's establishment!"
"That voice... Sailor Vincence!"
There she was. By the kitchen doors. Her long black hair seemed to move in the wind. Yet there's no wind. Her black-and-white sailor's uniform seems to shine with cleanliness.
"Sailor Marianna." She says, then her tone turns mocking. "You should have stayed with your boyfriend."
"Grrrr! I broke up with my boyfriend, okay?"
"If you say so." She prepares a liquid in a small bottle. "Here!"
She throws it in my direction. The bottle lands beside me. I drink the contents and the pain is gone. I stand up.
"Thank you! You really are a pro in the kitchen!"
"No, not so much. Why don't you go reassure your boyfriend while I take care of this thing?"
"I can handle this monster just fine and RODY IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!"
"Okay, okay."
Sailor Vincence leaves, leaving me angry.
"AHHHHHH MAX LIGHT MARIANNA HEART ATTACK!"
My attack pulverizes the giant monster. I pant. I wish I'd had a glass of water. Stupid Sailor Vincence. She has the gift of making me angry. Yet she has more experience than I do. I de-transform back into Manon and wait for Rody and his boss to return.
Yes, Sailor Vincence is Vince. Since only girls can be Sailor Guardians according to Naoko Takeuchi, Vince's magic brooch can change his gender in civilian and transform him into a magical girl.
